The Rice Is Ripe

 

The rice harvest time has come. TV news says the crop is still good in spite of the record high temperature this summer. 

The boiled grains are lustrous and smell sweet. You can enjoy this special flavor only within a few month after the harvest.
News also says breed improvement must be hurried to catch up with the rapid warming, which is amazingly exceeded our expectations.

    What a beautiful photo! It's so interesting to hear about the new rice harvest. The idea of the grains being "lustrous and sweet" sounds so delicious. It's also really interesting to learn about the need for new breeds to adapt to the warmer temperatures. Thanks for sharing this!

    Hello RTC, I have never had fresh (or freshly harvested) rice. In Ohio, fall was a time of harvest abundance, both on farms and in nature. The sight of plants laden with fruit or seeds is always beautiful.
