Pink And White Lotus Flowers
It's just the time to enjoy lotus flowers and its scent.You have to get up early and get to lotus ponds before 10 at latest, otherwise almost all the flowers will close and sleep. Or you should check weather forecast before you go to bed. If it says the next morning will be cloudy and the temperature will not be high, you can reach the site around noon.
Chinese soup spoons are called 'lotus petals' in Japan as the shapes are similar.
I love Chinese moon cakes made with lotus seed paste. It's very creamy.

ReplyDeleteA field of Lotus blossoms! You took some wonderful pictures of the pink lotus flower. And that close-up is awesome. I'd love to try the moon cakes with the lotus seed paste. My favorite picture is the first one, not quiet open yet. It's a sweet flower for sure.

ReplyDeleteHello RTC, There is a lotus pond near the Taipei History Museum--I need to pay a visit there. In addition to beautiful flowers and leaves, the lotus also has delicious seeds in addition to the the 蓮蓉 you mentioned, and there is also 蓮藕 and 蓮藕粉 which turn up in so many dishes.
