I love to eat buckwheat noodles called "soba". New flour has nutty smell stimulating my appetite.Next month, I can use it to make soba noodles by hand.
The attractive buckwheat flowers betray the fact that buckwheat is not a true grain. I also like to make noodles by hand--they have a much different texture; really a different product from dried noodles. --Jim
What a lovely field of Buckwheat. These white flowers are so pretty. I'm not familiar with soba, but I think it's great that you make the noodles by hand.
What a beautiful field! The flowers are so pretty! I did not know soba noodles were made of buckwheat. How wonderful to have home-made noodles. I grew buckwheat one year in my garden as a 'cover crop' in the fall to add nitrogen to the soil when tilled. It was easy to grow! Enjoy your noodles :)

I think I've had soba noodles before--I just didn't know that's what they're called. It's neat to see where they came from. Lovely!
