Moss phlox in my garden covers a little bit larger area this year than last year.
Blue hyacinths are tough.
This tulip didn't have a flower bud last year, just grew one big leaf. It is 50cm high and opens a big flower this spring.
We had a warm week in the early April. Asparagus began to grow.
I boiled them with salt and enjoyed the sweet taste of spring. What is your favorite cooking of asparagus?
Beauty for the eyes AND stomach!
ReplyDeleteOh my! The color here is just fantastic! I have never grown asparagus -- I need to learn how. I love it. I steam it and then when serving add a squirt of lemon juice and some slivered almonds. But I like it roasted with balsamic just as well.
ReplyDeleteI like them boiled for 1 or 2 minutes. No salt. Or raw.
ReplyDeleteMy little garden is full of hyacinths. There is only one colour now. Purple. They are the first to show up at this time.
Hello rtc, It's amazing how uplifting even a small dose of nature can be. You seem to have such success with your colorful garden. Sometimes I can't get out in actual nature, so photos and stories like yours are extra-valued by me.

Lovely flowers. We don't eat it. I get sore from there, and my husband doesn’t eat it.
ReplyDeleteDearest RTC,
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely spring photos.
Your Moss Phlox brought back fond memories of the many we had but they all got flooded away with high water in the creek. Sad to lose them.
Miss the white asparagus we have in The Netherlands, that was so good when used in soup!
Hugs,
Mariette
I roast in oven for maybe 20 mins with some oil salt pepper herbs onion garlic
ReplyDeleteGood to see the plants growing in spring.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous flowers and delicious asparagus. I like to eat asparagus without cooking it.
ReplyDeleteI love eating asparagus but I've never grown it in my garden. I think I should.
ReplyDeleteThe color of spring are pleasant, RTC. Love your tulip.
The Tulip is such a pretty flower. Its petals are thin, but the flower is sturdy. What a surprise to see the asparagus. They are one of my favorite vegetable. That's wonderful you have asparagus in your garden. The moss phlox is very pretty. Spring is surely blossoming in your area.
ReplyDeleteA happy month of May to you.

Beautiful flowers! Our girls dribble a bit of olive oil on asparagus spears and shake...I use a basting brush to spread it over the spears. Then sprinkle with sea salt and bake.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty flowers. I had an asparagus casserole once or twice at a restaurant and it was SO good. I have no idea what was in it to try to make it though.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blooms.
ReplyDeleteAsparagus is so delicious, and full of goodness.
All the best Jan
Que lindo o seu jardim, com tanta variedade de flores!
ReplyDeleteCostumo usar espargos em algumas sopas, que faço! E aprecio bastante! É um ingrediente que uso frequentemente, nas minhas sopas de legumes...
Adorei as imagens! Um grande abraço!
