Have you ever seen this bird "shoebill stork"? Some TV stations have broadcasted that shoebills stand on the pond to catch a fish for some hours without moving. This bird is quite popular now owing to TV. Girls say they are cute! To my surprise, a bird keeper in this zoo said shoebills in a zoo often move or walk because they have not worried about food. 鲸头鹳现在受欢迎了。
A female jaguar has a gentle looking eye. She looks like she is enjoying a relaxing holiday.
I want to know what they are communicating each other.
A sloth is hiding his head. Is he sleeping? 树獭在午睡，它的脸看不见。
I saw his face luckily. This animal is not "slothful". They move their bodies just in proportion to a small number of leaves they eat everyday. We should understand that their life style is "economical". Their emission of carbon dioxide is very low. 它突然抬头看我们。
A tapir has a short nose. Ancient Chinese believed that he ate human's dreams. 我没看过貘这么近。有一个古代传说：貘吃人的梦。

After seeing wonderful and lovely animals, we visitors were welcomed by a big rainbow. Dinosaurs saw rainbows, too. We are always impressed by the beauty of rainbows, though its phenomenon is simple. 外边出了一条大彩虹。
A flapping bird shaped cloud accompanies the rainbow.
I like to visit the zoo and the aquarium and watch the animals. Sometimes they seem almost human. The rainbows are gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteHello rtc, Your photos of animals and birds really feature their personalities. And how lucky to capture almost the whole rainbow--usually trees or buildings get in the way. In Ohio we get many rainbows, often double ones, but not so many in Taiwan, even though it often rains when the sun is shining here!

These are very interesting and thoughtful observations about animals. I am always struck at the way birds seem to waste energy, flying here and there to eat just one mouthful of food. But I am told that in fact they manage their energy very efficiently. I wish I understood how.
