Carp Streamers 鯉幟

The period from the end of April to the beginning of May, this park hangs carp streamers.

In ancient China, a carp were believed to be a dragon when it successfully swims over a hard torrent called Dragon Gate in Yellow River.  The streamers contain a wish for children's healthy growth. 鯉魚跳龍門

  2. Hello RTC, These streamers/windsocks are very colorful and actually do look like spawning fish.
    跳龍門之後,鯉魚似乎需要挑日本的樹.

  8. I love the symbolism behind the carp streamers! The story of the carp transforming into a dragon after swimming through the Dragon Gate is such a beautiful and inspiring myth. It's fascinating to learn how the tradition is tied to wishing for the healthy growth and success of children. The vibrant carp streamers must create a stunning scene, especially during this time of year. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate hope and resilience. Thank you for sharing this meaningful tradition!

  11. Congratulation, RTC. We rarely see carp in the river, mostly in the store.
