I would like to show you some summer flowers here.
Morning glories has begun to open. It's nice to see them in a cool and quiet morning. The highest temperature is more than 34℃(94F)for five continuous days.
Until 200 years ago, its color was blue alone.
After the daily life of people became stable, they studied improvement of morning glories and got other colors such as violet, red and pink.
In my prefecture, all new pupils of elementary school seed this plant in a pot at school and keep a observation diary.
Dayflowers beside a path welcome people walking for exercise.
This would be a new kind of sunflower.
They are 1.5 meters high.
This is called ”rifle lily".
They are really lovely.
ReplyDeleteMorning Glory is a weed here.
Gosh it's rather warm there for those days in a row, expect you would be looking forward to a cooler day very soon.
Take care.
The weather has been very warm for the past week. The flowers are doing very well even in this heat.
ReplyDeleteDearest RTC,
ReplyDeleteYour Morning Glory is stunning and even more special with its white edging and white chalice on the outside.
Great photo of the Commelina communis or Asiatic Dayflower.
Of course the breeding of that multi layered petaled sunflower is stunning.
Guess the Rifle lily is fragrant too.
Enjoy summer unfolding and we have about the same temperature and even higher but not this week as we have lots of thunder and rain; that cools off somewhat.
Hugs,
Mariette
Hello rtc, In Ohio, Morning Glories grow wild and are so common, it is difficult to think of anyone planting them deliberately, as welcome and friendly as they are. That all-yellow sunflower in full bloom looks just like a giant dandelion, to which it is of course related.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! 34C is too hot for me!
ReplyDeleteLovely Morning star flower! I grow sunflowers variety Teddy Bear this summer and they are not as high as it was announced.
ReplyDeleteThe color and shape of the Rifle lily is wonderful.
What beautiful flowers. I have morning glory but only the blue sort. Here in England the weather has been at the same temperature but this is unusual for us. I hope the high temperatures stop soon here.
ReplyDeleteThat Morning Glory is glorious. I used to see the same Morning Glories at my old house when I took a drive in the country. The yellow flowers are cheerful and remind me of Summer. A lovely post of flowers, and thank you for using the bigger font. It's a lot easier to read for us that are getting older. ; )
