First Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom 薄墨櫻花開了

Cherry is in full bloom.
This kind is called Usuzumi Sakura, usually opens its blossoms one week earlier than Somei Yoshino, which is the most popular kind. I enjoyed its beauty last Saturday.
I like to touch cherry blossoms softly. They are still cool in the early spring.

A group of blossoms is breathing.
1200 years ago, here was a big Buddhist temple for nuns. Big circle stones show the location of columns. This site has been preserved well since its excavation in 1968.

This is another kind. Petals are slender.

  2. Hello rtc, What can be more delicate or perfect than cherry blossoms as a symbol of Japan, with its appreciation of the exquisite.

  3. Dearest RTC.,
How lucky you are for living in Japan with so many breathtaking cherry blossoms.
My all time favorite is the one I had in The Netherlands, a weeping and double blooming version: Kiku-Shidare-sakura.
You no doubt are familiar with that one.
That place where once stood the Buddhist temple for nuns is quite impressive with its preserved circle stones of the ancient columns.
Enjoy nature's splendor and stay well!
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  5. I have a view of cherry tree from the front windows and the back windows of my home. It is always a pleasure to see them. I don't know which variety they are, but probably both grew from cherry stones. It does not detract from their beauty.
