This garden in Ushiku, a city north east of Tokyo, has a big pond, waterfalls and small islands with pine trees. I've heard a garden has two types. One is to see its beauty in front from the one viewpoint, the other is to walk in it and enjoy view changes which would be brought from different viewpoints.
When I visit here in end October, cosmoses were at their best. Many foreign tourists from such as Mainland China, Thailand and Malaysia took pictures with smiles.
They were receiving a warm autumn sunshine and swaying in the wind.
The big buddha was looking down at us. Many visitors got in a lift inside and went up to the lookout floor which had three oblong windows on its chest.
This must be a very special view. I've never seen such big lotus petals.
Lovely captures and such pretty flowers.
ReplyDeleteNice looking garden. The flowers are very pretty.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place. Last time I was in Japan the cosmoses were in full flower too and it was such a wonderful feeling when ever I came across a place that was full of them. Also we went to the North of Japan and saw some wonderful fall foliage at the end of October and start of November. I often think about it. It must have been wonderful to see such a huge statue of Buddha.
ReplyDeleteHello rtc, That garden sure is a delight. I am not sure how big it is overall, but it looks small and elegant. The cosmos field somehow reminds me of the poppy field in the Wizard of Ox. In Taiwan, we also have giant Buddhas and Guan Yins that are really buildings or towers with windows at the top, to which visitors can ascend.

ReplyDeleteDearest RTC,
ReplyDeleteThat is the perfect combination for walking across bridges and such to look at the garden from different angles.
What do those giant lotus petals signify/ They really are huge, all around the giant Buddha.
Sending you hugs and best wishes for a nice New Year's Eve and a Happy and Healthy 2019 for you and yours!
