Hello rtc, It appears that you are an accomplished cook. The dish you made looks beautifully cooked and presented.
Do look for the 茭白筍 in your local markets. They need very little cooking, but be sure to get good ones--the cut ends should look very white, crisp and fresh. --Jim
This looks really delicious. The rice looks similar to white rice here in the states. What a Yummy dish, and it looks nice on your blue and white plate.
I have never eaten bamboo shoots. Unfortunately I am allergic to soy! This made it very difficult when I was in Japan... so much nice food that I couldn't eat!
Dearest Roughterrain Crane, How fiber-rich those fresh bamboo shoots must be! We only can get them canned, never tasted them fresh! Your dish looks very attractive and sounds yummy. Dried bonito shavings also adds a special flavor for sure. Hugs, Mariette
Oh, thank you for visiting and leaving such a nice comment on The Marmelade Gypsy because I have found your blog! This looks delicious. I'll have to share this one with Rick, the one in our family who loves to cook Japanese food! And the cherry blossoms are magnificent! It's so good to see a blogger from Japan.
My one experience traveling to your beautiful country was many years ago. We had a number of friends who we met through exchange programs who live in various places in your beautiful country and it was quite a wonderful experience. Now I will see some photos now and then! jeanie from Marmelade Gypsy
