Sunflower Field

The sunflowers are at their best now. A volunteer group grows them every year. In 2020, the first year of COVID-19 pandemic in this country, they discontinued growing the flowers to protect visitors from the infection.

Since the last year, the group has put boards requiring visitors to wear a mask and keep distance. They have not built an observation deck either to avoid concentration of visitors.

The yellow in this year is same as that of before the pandemic and before the war. Times have changed.

  2. Dearest RTC,
Lovely photos and always a happy sight!
Never got to making a picture of a sunflower field near our home as we were close to our departure for the 11–day road journey. Pieter once more needed to repair our bridges and lots of preparation.
Yes, the world is in a dark and sad stage...
Let's hope that we, just like the sunflowers, manage to turn our faces again towards the light!
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  4. Lovely! Being outdoors, though, I can't understand why they just wouldn't continue to grow them during the pandemic. Finding out in the last few months how much we were all lied to about Covid.
    Blessings!

  6. Beautiful sunflowers 🌻 😍 in a field. We have volunteer sunflowers 🌻 growing in a few lawns including one at our house. It's dahlia time here as well. Have a good week.

  12. What a sight the sunflower fields are! I have always thought that the sunflower was beautiful, even when drooping and wilting in the heat. Such a spectacular flower. Very nice photos.
