Modern Japanese Style Architecture

A wealthy merchant built this house 100 years ago. He handled fertilizers.

Azalea flowers are beautiful.
映山紅盛開。
The wall of the storehouse was plastered.

Doores are very thick and designed carefully not to have fire slip into. There is a big maple tree in front.
I enjoyed a cool breeze under it.

  2. Looks rather good for being that old. Shade trees are a good thing in warm to hot weather.

  6. Dearest RTC,
It might be modern style architecture but the Japanese touch is not lost on it.
Beautiful gardens; another Japanese detail and such cleverly designed fire–proof doors!

  8. Looks like a nice place to visit. The azaleas seem to be bigger than ones here in USA. Almost looks like a rhododendran bush. I am glad you got to cool off under the trees. Nice photos! Take care and God bless!..Becky

  17. A charming house. Here in California, housing is quite expensive. Hard for someone like me to live here. But my family seems to make it work. : )

I like the big maple tree in front of the house.
