I always like to see the cherry blossom trees in your area. I miss seeing all the pink blossom trees in my old town. There are a few pink and white trees here in the mountains throughout my town, but they used to grace all the streets in my old town and were such a sight. Thank you for sharing your trees with us. They are beautiful, and look like old trees.
I read that the wood from that tree is used to make furniture and that it changes color freshly cut, the heartwood is dull grey/purplish brown. Upon exposure the wood becomes a deeper purple eggplant color. With the passage of time and exposure to UV light, the wood turns dark brown with a hint of purple. I ask you: Can you eat your cherries?

Love all cherry blossoms - our neighborhood has many and it looks so lovely as we've had some rain the past couple of days.
ReplyDeleteAlas, nothing lasts forever.

Cherry trees can bear very small fruit but it's not sweet.

ReplyDeleteDearest RTC,
ReplyDeleteLove the changing of flower petals as they mature.
