A Small Town In Mountains

I went to Motegi to buy new buckwheat flour.

There still remain two old style warehouses.
The hill behind them is ruins of a castle.
Earthworks have been well preserved. These tall trees are cherry.
Many maple leaves changed to bright red.

I enjoyed the high blue sky and red leaves.
I found three cherry trees are in full bloom.
There are two kinds of cherry: one opens blossoms in spring, the other in autumn.  It's rare to have a chance to see cherry blossoms and red maple leaves at the same time.

  2. Hello rtc, What a great chance to explore the natural wonders and man-made history of this mountain village. I know I would want to investigate the ruins of the old castle.

Are you going to make noodles with your buckwheat flour or use it in another way?

  3. Dearest RTC,
WOW, that is one of nature's miracles and you were so lucky for seeing this unfold! Guess Japan is the only country where the Shikizakura and Fuyuzakura put on such a show.
Thanks for always sharing this with your readers!
    Hugs,

  10. Oh, you're right, RTC. It is unusual to see cherry blossoms bloom in autumn. I think you bought buckwheat flour. In Russia, buckwheat is prepared as porridge or as a dressing for meat. What do you use from buckwheat flour?
