I was born and grew up far away from the sea, its view even now brings me feelings something special.
Last week I went to the sea and walked slowly on the beach. The waves came up to the beach in many different shapes with white bubbles.
The sound of the waves is repeated, repeated: a big sound suddenly go away and the silence is left for a while.
I found the sand underfoot had a lot of small holes. Small unknown lives are inside. I heard the ancient Buddhists did not go out for training and stayed in their temples within a certain period in the rainy season so as not to trample down small insects and young plants under growing. The lives in these holes know when dangers comes.
"All the rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full. " This is an impressive epigraph of a long novel.
In September, waves become higher than in summer. Views, sounds and lights of the beach seems to have a power to make people vigorous.
I remember the last of "Tender is the night". "He raised his hand and with a papal cross he blessed the beach from the high terrace. Faces turned upward from several umbrellas."
I was born in England and grew up just 10 minutes from the sea - the English Channel. I love water, oceans, lakes, rivers, ponds - even little streams!
ReplyDeleteTo visit the beach now is a 2.5 hr. drive to the coast of North Carolina. Beautiful beaches there and I've missed going this summer - although personally I like it better in winter. Perhaps a weekend there looking out across the Atlantic Ocean will be possible soon. I hope to walk the beach early mornings breathing in the fresh, salty air, without a mask!!!
Lovely photos, thank you for sharing your interesting walk.

Dearest RTC.,
ReplyDeleteJust like you, I lived some two hours away from the sea. I was already 14 and at High School when our neighborhood went by bus, all together to the Sea and to the Harbor. We stood in awe, and those 'unknown' to us noises of the water - endless repeating sounds. They sure could swell into dangerous, roaring noises that could cause devastation like with the big flooding of 1953. Yes, we humans always been in awe of the seas. They transported people and goods. Indeed, creeks fill rivers and rivers empty into the seas but there the water anew evaporates and brings back the moisture for the land...
Life is an interesting cycle and it all is about water as that means life in many forms.
You are a keen observer and I like such reflections...
Hugs,
Mariette
I grew up and still live far from the sea too. The only time I see the ocean is on holiday from time to time.
ReplyDeleteLovely view.
ReplyDeleteI love the sea, thanks for sharing.

I love the sea, there is something special and magical about it.
ReplyDeleteI did enjoy seeing your photographs, a very nice collection.
All the best Jan
Hello rtc, The ocean is not that far from Taipei, yet there is no easy way for me to get to it. Also, we tend to have rocky rather than sandy beaches. In Cleveland there is Lake Eire which is so big that it has waves and looks as limitless as the ocean. Sometimes we used to walk along the shore and pick up sea glass.

I grew up inland in Oregon. But we did go to the sea once in awhile. My dad was a farmer so we didn't go on too many vacations. We live about 1.5 hours away from closest beach. I enjoy going there as it refreshes my soul. A good time to just be alone and talk with God. I have good stories to share that way. I've been to a couple beaches in England when my husband and I were there with USAF. One was close to where we lived in Felixstowe. It had rocks on it. Your photos are so nice to see! We have green seaweed here in Oregon. Have a good weekend!! Take care!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of the sea and sand.
ReplyDeleteBeing on an Island sea is all around, and not matter where we stand on this Island we are no more than 150km from the sea :)
Take care.
I found your blog today, and I love the sea too. I walk to the ocean often from my house, with my dog, here along the Pacific Ocean. You have a nice style of writing with a touch of poetry to it. If you visit my blog today you will see a dragon!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love the sea too!
ReplyDeleteI love the sea and a big beach. While I'm happy on my little lake, there is something powerful about the sight and sound of the sea. These are beautiful photos of both water and sand.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming to visit me today!

I was born near the Baltic Sea and I always like to walk along the coast, see waves, wind, sky ...

Visiting the sea clears the mind and brings peace to the heart! I love the scent of salt air and the sounds of the waves and sea-birds. I grew up on the Atlantic coast in New England, but now I live on the Pacific coast. It is very different - much colder and more rugged and a deeper shade of blue. I loved to swim in the sea when I was young, but we can't swim on our Washington State coast - it is much too dangerous, but it is beautifully wild and I don't get to visit it as often as I would like. Your beach looks so clean and lovely. Thank you for sharing! x Karen
ReplyDeleteGorgeous views of the beach and sea. It looks so peaceful.
ReplyDeleteLovely series of photos. Have a happy day!
The precious wave...I am from Georgia in America. I did not see the ocean until I was about 7 years old. Nothing could have prepared me for how much I would love it. Still do.
ReplyDeleteLovely post, I thank you for it.
Love these fabulous captures of the sea and sand.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Beautiful photos of the sea. I long to see the ocean - it's been awhile. It's so peaceful and calming. It's so nice that you got to visit and walked slowly on the beach and appreciated the beauty of it. It sounds wonderful.
