Tooling Machines 工作母机

It is not often for us in everyday life to see tooling machines in a factory. They have been playing important roles to sustain convenient modern lives. They are indispensable to produce molds, dies, gauges and precision parts for electric appliances we have in our houses.

Fraise, milling machine. This is a base of many milling works. 铣床
Grinder 研磨机
Numerical control machining center. Many types of drills and endmills can be used. 加工中心
Numerical control drilling machine with two axes. Placing two steel plates under each axis, we can get two plates with the holes in the same locations at a time.
Wire-cut electric discharging machine. This uses 0.1 ~ 0.3 diameter mm brass wires to discharge electricity. Discharging can get 1600℃ high heat to shave the side of metals. Any kinds of shape, circle, square, triangle can be made. 线切割机
Contour machine to cut steel with band saw. 带锯盘
Lathe, a popular tooling machine 车床
 Precision grinder

  1. Hello rtc, Big machinery like this is awesome! I can appreciate the small and the delicate, but these large machines that manipulate our world are fascinating also.

  2. Wonderful! These bring back memories for me, as my dear Father was a tool and die machinist. I can remember visiting him at his job with my Mother and hearing the machines and the scent of machine oil. Hope your new week is a good one! x Karen

  10. Dearest RTC,
Yes we all owe a lot to the inventors of such tooling machines for creating almost every gadget we use in our homes, with such precision.
    Sending you hugs,

  14. Factories and the entire world of work fascinate me. I love behind-the-scenes tours and do them every chance I get.
My Granddad was a toolmaker, but the way he learned his trade was still rather different to what the job entails nowadays (he was born in 1913 and died in 1989).
