Visiting A Zoo In Winter

The outer temperature is only 10 degrees C, or 50 F, animals from Africa do not mind the cold.

Visitors can buy a small bag of food for specific animals. A giraffe gets pieces of vegetables with its long tongue.
No penguins play in the pool. Or  they might be waiting for some special joy coming.

Lemurs are from Madagascar. They have a beautiful stripe tail. I wonder it can be used as a neck scarf. Be careful not to get chilblains on ears.
This long-armed ape really has long arms. He suddenly extended his arm and I was almost robbed my camera. It was a close shave. Doesn't he need a camera manual?
A black cow is enjoying the warm sunshine.

  1. I always feel a little sorry for the animals in zoos, but the ones you picture seem content--even in the cool weather. --Jim

  2. Oh, the Zoo is one of my favorite places to visit. I'm glad you got a chance to go. The giraffe is so grand, I really love this animal. And the penguins are very interesting...and sweet.

  8. What a good idea to buy the food that suits the animals! I smiled at the idea of the lemur tail as a scarf. Maybe you could give a pet lemur some work to do :)

  10. Lovely photos of some of the animals in the zoo, and how lucky you were not to have your camera snatched by the monkey - maybe he would work out how to use it :)

  16. i too feel sorry for the animals that are imprisoned in zoos but i feel relief when kids face glow by watching them .
Here in our country where in main big cities we visited the zoos visitors are not allowed to give anything to eat to animals ,they can only watch them through huge cage like fences .
you captured the animals very nicely .
    Happy new year friend!
